Privacy Policy
Lingua Puzzle ("we", "us", "the App") is a crossword puzzle app for learning English vocabulary. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Usage Analytics
The App uses Firebase Analytics to understand how people use it — for example, which screens are viewed, when a puzzle level is started or completed, and when a word's dictionary card is opened. These events are tied to an anonymous, randomly generated app instance identifier, not to your name or email.
Alongside these events, Firebase Analytics automatically records standard technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, and an approximate location (country or city level) derived from your IP address. The App does not request access to your device's GPS or precise location.
The App does not collect or use the Android/iOS advertising identifier, and advertising ID collection is explicitly disabled in Firebase Analytics.
1.2 Feedback (Optional)
If you choose to submit feedback from within the App, we collect the message you write and the puzzle level or word the feedback relates to. This is stored in Cloud Firestore (a Google Firebase service) so we can read it. The App does not ask for your name or email address, and feedback is submitted without any contact details attached — which also means we cannot reply to it directly. Submitting feedback is entirely optional; the App works fully without it.
Please do not include personal information in the feedback message itself.
1.3 Data Stored Only on Your Device
Your puzzle progress, saved (favorite) words, theme and color preferences, and language setting are stored locally on your device and are never transmitted to us. Uninstalling the App removes them.
2. What We Don't Collect
📍 The App does not request any device permissions. It does not access your GPS or precise location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, or files. It does not require an account or login, and asks for no name, email, or phone number. It contains no ads and does not use the advertising identifier. We do not sell your data or share it with third parties for advertising purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
The App uses Google Firebase (Analytics and Cloud Firestore) to provide the functionality described above. Firebase may process data on Google's infrastructure in accordance with Google's Privacy Policy.
4. Data Retention
Analytics data is retained by Firebase Analytics according to Google's standard retention settings. Feedback messages are retained until we no longer need them to act on the feedback.
5. Your Rights
Because the App collects no name, email, or account identifier, we hold no information that identifies you personally and therefore cannot look up data "about you" on request.
You can stop all analytics collection at any time by uninstalling the App; uninstalling also erases all locally stored data (progress, favorites, and settings). If you submitted feedback that you would like removed, contact us at the address below with enough detail to identify the message, and we will delete it.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.
7. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
