Community Guidelines

Ultreia Teams lets pilgrims walking the Camino de Santiago form groups and share their real-time position with each other on the map. These guidelines explain how Teams works, what data is shared, and the rules every member agrees to follow.

1. What Teams Does

A Team is a private group of up to 20 pilgrims. Each team has an owner who creates the group and shares an invite code. Members who join the group and set their status to "active" share their GPS position with all other active members of that team.

2. Consent & Location Sharing

By accepting these guidelines and joining or creating a team, you agree to the following:

• Voluntary participation. Joining a team is entirely voluntary. You must explicitly accept these guidelines before you can create or join any team.
• Location sharing with group members. While your status is set to "active", your GPS coordinates are sent to our server and made visible to all other active members of your team. Your coordinates are updated at the interval you choose (1, 5, 10, or 60 minutes).
• No location history. Only your most recent position is stored on the server. Each new update replaces the previous one. We do not build or retain any movement history or track log.
• What other members see. Other active members of your team can see your display name, your last known position on the map, and the time of your last update. They cannot see your email, booking information, itinerary, or any other personal data.
• Easy withdrawal. You can stop sharing your location at any time by switching your status to "inactive" or by leaving the team. No questions asked.

3. Code of Conduct

All team members agree to:

• Be respectful. Treat fellow pilgrims with kindness and consideration. Harassment, bullying, or discrimination of any kind is not tolerated.
• Use Teams for its intended purpose. Teams is designed to help pilgrims coordinate and stay connected on the Camino. Do not use it to track someone without their knowledge or consent, or for any commercial purpose.
• Do not stalk or surveil. Using Teams to monitor, follow, or track anyone without their explicit, ongoing consent is strictly prohibited and may be illegal under applicable law.
• Respect others' privacy. Do not share another member's location data, display name, or any information visible within your team with third parties outside the group without that member's permission.

4. Safety & Limitations

Please be aware of the following limitations:

• Location accuracy depends on your device's GPS hardware and signal conditions. In mountainous or remote areas of the Camino, GPS accuracy may be reduced.
• Location updates require an active internet connection (cellular data or Wi-Fi). In areas without coverage, your position will not be updated until connectivity is restored.
• Real-time tracking consumes battery. Choose a longer update interval (e.g. 10 or 60 minutes) if battery life is a concern.
• You are solely responsible for your own safety on the Camino. Do not rely on Teams as your only means of communication or navigation.

5. Team Owner Responsibilities

The person who creates a team becomes its owner. Owners have additional responsibilities:

• Manage membership. The owner can share the invite code and remove members who violate these guidelines.
• Protect the invite code. Only share your team's invite code with people you trust. Anyone with the code can join your team.
• Transfer or delete. If you no longer wish to manage the team, transfer ownership to another active member or delete the team.

6. Your Data & How to Delete It

• Leave a team — your status is set to "left" and your location is no longer visible or updated.
• Go inactive — your location stops being shared and you stop receiving other members' locations. You remain a member of the team.
• Delete your account — all your team memberships, location data, feedback messages, and personal data are permanently removed. Visit Delete Account for instructions.

Audit logs (join/leave/create events) are retained for up to 12 months for safety and abuse-prevention purposes, after which they are automatically deleted.

7. Violations & Enforcement

If you experience or witness behavior that violates these guidelines, you can:

• Use the feedback feature within the team to report the issue.

We reserve the right to investigate reports and take appropriate action, including but not limited to: issuing a warning, removing a user from a team, or disabling a user's access to Teams features.
